March 6, 2025 — We are delighted to welcome Mr. Yosef Mlaw Grmay from Ethiopia as a new member of the Global Taskforce for Youth Combatants.

Yosef, 27 years old now, is a former member of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF). He was a merchant before the conflict started, but he decided to join the group after witnessing genocide in his hometown. He later left the group due to an injury.
“Conflict can arise anywhere. While it may be initiated suddenly by an enemy, it's crucial for all parties involved to take a step back and remain calm. True peace should be achieved not through violence, but through discussions around the table. If two sides cannot come to an agreement, a third party should already be in place to intervene before the conflict escalates. Conflict is harmful because it consumes and destroys the resources that people have built during times of peace — Yosef.”
Now he is determined to become an agent of peace, using his own experiences to highlight the importance of not giving up on finding a new way to peace.
