August 14, 2025 — As we celebrated International Youth Day on August 12th, the Founder of GTY, Yosuke Nagai, is featured on the United Nations Headquarters website titled “Bringing the Global Goals Home: How youth make the SDGs local.”
This website delves into a storytelling series to explore how young people worldwide are turning the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into tangible change in their local communities. Yosuke is introduced as a young leader committed to “Peace through Inclusion.”
The website showcases our activities supporting the transformation of those often seen as threats — including Youth Associated with Non-State Armed Groups (YANSAG) — into Agents of Peace.
“These youth are often overlooked or seen solely as threats, particularly in conflict zones where peace agreements seem unattainable. If these young people can become unique Agents of Peace, those engaged in violence decrease while those building society increase,” Yosuke explains.
The GTY remains committed to engaging in international advocacy, promoting and ensuring the recognition of the rights and empowerment of YANSAG, enabling each individual to realize their potential as a peacebuilder.
